Hell - i even bought a n64 JUST to play OB64 and immediately sold it afterwards. We used to write our own unofficial sequels that we'd make if we could program. We used to play games like Heroscape and make custom characters based around Tactics Ogre characters. It was like a phenomenon amongst my friends.įast forward - nathan and i still say it's our favorite game of all time. I also showed it to my friends Andrew and nathan and they immediately bought their own copy right away. I simultaneously had a file with my friend will, a file with my friend chuck, and my own file. It was the greatest gaming experience i ever had. I had my mom drive me around to tons of stores that day until we found it new at Toys R Us.
I remember seeing Tactics Ogre in a Gamepro or Gameplayer and seeing it advertised as a related game, with its release date given. When I was a kid, Ogre Battle was a random psx rental that I ended up loving.
The psp version is the most disappointed I've ever been with any piece of media in my entire life. Lans' white knights are called GILDAS and MILDAINĪnd the evil necromancer with the cool theme is NYBBAS Sorry if that was long winded, TO on the psx/snes is my favorite game out there. They will get level ups crazy fast, and you can destroy anyone at that point.!< Bonus points if playing on a snes emulator, which has the speed up function, just don't forget to set the hotkey for fast forward to be the same key that you use to progress through text in the game, because sometimes characters have quotes they say before casting spells, which pauses the game and stops training until you cycle through the text. Or to really break the game,>! as soon as you get the cleric class for females, make two of them, give them both a healing spell, the heaviest armor you have and TWO shields each, and have them train against each other while both being set to computer control(leave the game and come back later). Spam the witch spell matching your (hopefully the entire party's) element multiple times every turn: they are called Hahnela, Gurza, Bartha, and Zoshonell. If you get stuck, (personally the psx game isn't that hard, just grindy at times) just use as many undead units as you can find, or recruit characters that match the elemental alignment of Denim.
